John Leguizamo: Tales From a Ghetto Klown

Two films in one about staging a one man show (in English AND in Spanish)
This 51 minute film aired on PBS this summer as part of their Summer Arts Festival. It is now being released by PBS Home Video with supplemental materials (not always the case with PBS Home releases.). The bonus material really adds to it and - if you saw on TV, you might want to see on DVD as well.

Anyone who likes Leguizamo should absolutely appreciate this close-up look at the artistic process. While it showcases what makes Leguizamo special and charts his unorthodox rise within the business, it's decidedly more involved than just a personality piece. More than anything, "Tales From A Ghetto Klown" gives one an insider's peek at what it takes to prepare a show for Broadway. It's like "Smash" without the pop songs and silly subplots! From a kernel of an idea, to prepping the material, to workshopping, to early...
