A Funny Movie about a Group of Friends
We Are the Hartmans is an odyssey of redemption, centered around a group of friends and a bar. It is a fun movie to watch, and features some hilarious cameo appearances.
Comedy with an Important Point
We Are the Hartmans is many films in one: comedy, romance and social commentary. I liked the multiple story lines and ensemble cast. Also the "Dude You're Getting a Dell!" guy is in it too. The seductive access is funny when she tries to seduce a famous rock star as well.
This comedy is better than many comedies I've seen with wide releases. It's a shame that it never got to the big theaters.
Quirky
This movie was off beat and had it's moments. Richard Chamberlain as always doesn't disappoint. I think the problem is the writer of this movie had too many messages that was being sent. From the message of big box stores, to hippies, to family dynamics, to love, to liberalism...it all kind of just jumbled together and was never really clarified. Despite all of that I still enjoyed it. It had moments of hilarity coupled with some moments of regrets on the part of the family dynamic.
